2025 Annual Open Enrollment Survey — a New Report from Stride

Stride’s annual Open Enrollment research, based on a survey of 1,700 workers without access to employer-based health insurance, reveals that the majority of individuals seeking ACA health coverage are confused, frustrated, and overwhelmed by the process. As we head into the ACA’s 11th open enrollment period, shoppers still lack critical information such as the deadline to enroll, and how premiums and coverage can change year-to-year.

The research highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the majority of the 60+ million independent workers in America, as well as millions of W-2 employees and small business workers, in navigating their insurance options. The findings also underscore the urgent need for improved education and engagement to help close knowledge gaps and empower hardworking people to make well-informed decisions about their healthcare coverage.
