Stride Spotlight: Meet Jenny—the dogs' favorite Strider

Stride empowers self-employed people to build lives they love. This week, we chatted with Jenny, the Member Experience Manager at Stride, about her desire to help self-employed workers achieve their independence, her love for improving our members’ experience with Stride, and her ever-so close connection with each office dog.

Can you introduce yourself and your position?

I'm Jenny, Member Experience Manager for Stride Health.

What were you up to before you joined Stride?

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Global Health from Northwestern and my master’s in Nutrition Science from Columbia. At Columbia, I studied the role nutrition plays in overall human health and chronic disease prevention. After graduating, I went on to work for a small startup that provides a software for pharmacists to help enroll patients in Medicare Part D plans. There I developed a program that would alert pharmacists if a patient was taking medications that depleted him or her of certain nutrients.

What makes you excited to get up and come to work every morning?

The snacks! String cheese, Cheddar Bunnies, veggie straws, avocados, peanut butter pretzels, hummus, baby carrots, local coffee, yogurt, granola, and the occasional donut— I never have to leave the office!

In all seriousness, it’s pretty easy to get excited to come to work each morning. I never know what each day will bring, which keeps me on my toes. Right now we’re hiring for our team, so I get to interview potential Member Experience Associates and talk about why working at Stride is so amazing.

Everyone who works here is extremely passionate about helping our members, and everything we do is centered around improving the member’s experience.

Some days, I’m helping my team through a sticky member situation, while other days I’m planning for the future of our team to ensure we’ll be able to provide best-in-class support for our customers a year from now. Everyone who works here is extremely passionate about helping our members, and everything we do is centered around improving the member's experience. Plus, the Member Experience team is hands-down the greatest team at Stride, so what’s not to love?

What does Member Experience mean to you?

At Stride, a huge part of a customer’s experience is the interaction they have with our Member Experience team. The perfect member experience is one in which the member has personalized, positive interactions with our team. Ideally, every single person we speak with walks away thinking “Wow, Stride really cares. They understand my problems and are actively working to help me.”

Talk to me about Stride's values: Empathy, grit, health, optimism, trust.

Trust is a fundamental part of Stride, and especially resonates with the Member Experience team. We help our members make some pretty difficult decisions, so it's important that our members trust the advice we give them when we're assisting with making a big life choice.

Who's your favorite office dog?

I actually think that I’m the dogs’ favorite Strider. I won’t go into too much detail, but they have this habit of “marking their territory” near my desk. I like to think they just want to be friends with me!
