Announcing Stride for Uber Freight Users
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with Uber Freight to help carriers, drivers, and dispatchers save time and money on health insurance for themselves and their families.
Uber Freight: A New Way to Freight
Uber Freight launched in 2017 with the goal to revitalize the trucking industry and help freight move seamlessly and effortlessly across the country. The first step towards achieving this goal has been empowering carriers and their drivers with technology to help them succeed. Through Uber Freight, carriers can book loads quickly, see prices up front, and receive payment faster than industry norms.
Earlier this year, the company launched Uber Freight Plus, a program designed to provide carriers of all sizes with the resources they need to succeed on and off the road. Uber Freight partnered up with industry leaders to offer discounts to eligible carriers on tires, fuel, mobile phone plans, and more.
In partnering with Stride Health, Uber Freight is now extending the program to healthcare. Stride Health can now help Uber Freight users sign up for health insurance, helping to provide them with more time to focus on their business.
Rising Health Care Costs and Confusion
Health care costs are on the rise and have been for years. As prices continue to rise, picking the right plan has never been more important —or more stressful. There are deadlines to meet, tons of plans to compare, subsidies to qualify for, and a million confusing terms: What is a “metal tier”? What’s the difference between copayments and coinsurance? What’s better — an HMO or a PPO?
Often, people who work for themselves face a more complicated application process and pay more than they should for health insurance, simply because they aren’t familiar with subsidies that can decrease their costs. They often have no guidance when it comes to making these critical decisions, and that means they’re spending a lot of time trying to figure out health insurance — time they can spend on the road earning a living.
That’s where Stride comes in: we make it easy for independent workers to find health coverage. To get help in finding insurance, Uber Freight carriers, drivers, and dispatchers need to first answer a few questions. Based on these answers, they then receive a plan recommendation, learn which money-saving subsidies they are eligible to receive, and get enrolled in coverage — all within approximately 10 minutes.
Going Beyond Health Insurance
Stride won’t only be helping Uber Freight carriers, drivers, and dispatchers with health insurance. Through Stride, they can easily sign up for dental and vision plans designed specifically for independent workers.
As Stride continues to grow, we will continue to develop and introduce new tools for independent workers. In the meantime, our award-winning, live-person concierge team will be standing by to help these carriers, drivers and dispatchers get answers to their questions so they can get back to doing what they want to be doing.
